My advice is go read some bad professional fiction, or bad yet award-winning fan fiction, just to prove to yourself that the bar isn't really that high. Then allot yourself a certain amount of time - you have barely three or four days left, since the deadline is for arrival, not the postmark - and make what improvements you can in your story. Then send it in.

If it wins, it's because you're wonderful. If it loses, it's because you didn't have enough time to work on it. No worries, either way. It never hurts to try.

Contests have a way of making my muse go absolutely bonkers, curling up from the pressure and hoping it will all go away. The ASC Awards are better because 8 months of the year, we're not thinking about them and heck, even during voting I wasn't even thinking of them. But SNW... it's scaring the heck out of me and I'm still debating whether to do it or not. Advice?
